About SetuSpain
Why this site exists
SetuSpain is run by Bangladeshis living in Spain, writing down the procedures we have been through ourselves.
If you have moved to Spain from Bangladesh, you already know the pattern: a procedure that sounds simple on paper turns out to need a document nobody mentioned, at an office that only opens on certain mornings, with a form that has to be paid for before you arrive. The official information is published, and it is accurate. The problem is that it is written in Spanish administrative language, for people who already understand how the system fits together.
SetuSpain exists to close that gap. We write in Bangla, because that is the language most of our readers think in, and we link every article back to the official Spanish source so you can verify it yourself.
How we write
- We only write about procedures we have been through or helped someone else through. Experience is the part you cannot get from a government website.
- Every article cites its official source and links to it: Policía Nacional, the Ministerio de Inclusión, DGT, Seguridad Social.
- We say when we are not sure. Immigration rules vary by province, by office and sometimes by the person at the desk. Where that is true, we say so rather than pretending there is one clean answer.
- We date everything. Rules change. Each article shows when it was last checked, so you know how fresh it is.
What we are not
We are not lawyers, gestores or immigration advisers, and nothing here is legal advice. We are people who went through these procedures and wrote down what happened. For anything that affects your legal status, talk to a qualified professional. And check the official source before you act on anything you read here.
Who writes here
Articles carry the name of whoever wrote them. If a member of the community sends us a piece and we publish it, it goes out under their name, not ours. You can write one here.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong or out of date, please tell us. Getting a procedure wrong costs a reader time they cannot spare, so corrections are the most useful message you can send us: setuspain@proton.me.
